Chicks, Piglets Lambs & Kids

What a week at Umberslade Farm Park! We have welcomed baby piglets, lambs, goat kids and chicks into the world in the last 7 days - it has been a fantastic week. Georgia (one of our Mangalitza pigs) gave birth to five lovely piglets that are getting used to life with their first time mum who is doing a superb job at looking after them all. Days before she had her litter of piglets, two of our nanny goats gave birth to two little goat kids - one completely white in colour and the other almost entirely black in colour. Both are doing well and their mums (Beatrice and Claudia) have plenty of milk to keep their little bellies full!

Our Jacob sheep ewes keep on throwing us some interesting surprises with three tiny lambs which we thought weren't due until June! All the ewes and lambs are doing really well and will soon be out in the field enjoying the Spring sunshine. We bought the Jacob flock earlier in the year and were told that they were due much later than we thought and so it was a lovely surprise to have some extra lambs at this time of year.

The baby chicks are getting much more active and the little chicks under the heat lamp at February half-term are now in a much larger pen and growing very quickly - before we know it there will be eggs galore!
