Harvest Time at Umberslade Farm Park

Umberslade Farm Park in Tanworth-in-Arden will be hosting a Harvest Festival on 1st and 2nd October 2011.

The harvest spectacular will celebrate the magnificent seasonal produce grown and nurtured by Warwickshire farmers every year.  Children of all ages will learn how farmers traditionally brought the harvest in, explore some of the modern machinery used in fields across the county and get hands on with traditional craft activities.

A Harvest Farmers Market will also be offering some of the finest local produce from bread and cakes through to preserves and chutneys from Becketts Farm.  Children will have the opportunity to learn about the whole process from harvesting right through to the finished product, while parents can sample and purchase a wide selection of Warwickshire’s finest produce.

Oliver Muntz, owner of Umberslade Farm Park said: “Traditionally harvest is a time of real celebration for the whole family so we wanted to make sure this tradition isn’t lost.  Harvest time is celebrated all over the world but we wanted to make the Umberslade celebration quintessentially English with jams, preserves and crumbly cakes!”

Umberslade’s Harvest Festival will take place over the weekend of 1st and 2nd October 2011.

During the harvest Festival Umberslade will also offer its full schedule of farmyard activities. Children can feed the sheep and goats as well as get up close to baby piglets, chicks and our new alpacas. Youngsters can also enjoy the ‘egg splat’ cannons and ride-on tractors in the indoor play area.

Umberslade Farm Park is situated 10 minutes from junction 3 of the M42 and 5 miles from Henley-in-Arden. The farm is open seven days a week to the public and school groups during term time. Opening times are 10am – 5pm (4pm from 1st November to 1st March). School bookings are available in term time typically from 10am – 2pm.
