Yes you heard right, Umberslade now offers a fully equipped tipi to hire by the night or by the week. Enjoy the crackle of a campfire outside your very own traditional tipi. Perfect for couples and families alike.
What better way to enjoy the great outdoors than under canvas? At Umberslade we love camping and welcome campers from across the world every year. Our camp site can be found next to the farm park and is open to tents and caravans of all sizes.
We have a comfortably furnished 21ft North American Sioux Tipi, one giant 26ft tipi made of cotton canvas and 14ft Bell Tents set up on a permanent eco friendly campsite on the edge of the woodland on a gentle slope surrounded by fields overlooking the farm.
We invite you to experience a camping adventure with a difference. Imagine spending your evenings relaxing next to a glowing fire looking for shooting stars, toasting marshmallows, jamming with your family and friends in merry singsong. Imagine waking up in the morning to the sound of bird song or spotting a Roe dear (or two). We pride ourselves on offering you an alternative break of back to nature camping!
The tipis and Bell Tents are magnificent structures which provide surprisingly spacious accommodation – a perfect place for family and friends to get together.
Tipi/Bell Tent living means spending much of your time outside the Tipi. The crackling of a campfire, the smell of wood smoke in the air and cooking outside on a firebowl/ barbeque makes the camping experience complete so we encourage you to make use of the firebowls and Kelly Kettles provided. (We can also arrange a larger fire for you and supply the wood for £40). This is surely an experience that we should all enjoy. Each tipi has plenty of space outside so you won't notice what your neighbours are up to!
We can provide you with breakfast/barbeque packs from the Farmhouse Cafe. If you do not fancy cooking your own food then please use our Farm House Cafe in the newly-refurbished farm buildings offering delicious breakfasts, hot and cold food, sandwiches and home-made cakes. For parties of ten people or more who would like an evening celebration meal we can open our Farm House Cafe Restaurant which serves wonderful food, wine and beer.
Whether you want to hire a tipi or Bell Tent for a night or a week, as a couple, a family, as a group of friends or for a honeymoon with a difference you’ll find lots of things to see and do. Umberslade boasts some fabulous walks, is ideal for bike rides and horse riding. There is also a wonderful pub offering local ales and home cooked food.
